AB2370 LEAD IN DRINKING WATER TESTING FOR CHILD CARE CENTERS

Sampling and Reporting to California AB 2370 Written Directives

California Assembly Bill 2370 requires every licensed child care center in a building constructed before January 1, 2010 to have its drinking water tested for lead — and to repeat that testing every five years. TERRA handles the full compliance cycle: we inventory the outlets children and staff actually drink from, collect first-draw cold water samples under the state’s stagnation requirements, submit them to an ELAP-certified laboratory, and return results with the notification language centers need for parents and licensing.

California Health & Safety Code § 1596.7996

Every licensed child care center in a pre-2010 building must test its drinking water for lead — and retest every five years.

AB2370 water testing services include:

Outlet inventory and sampling plans
ELAP-certified laboratory analysis
First-draw cold water sampling
Chain-of-custody documentation
Stagnation scheduling and site coordination
Parent and guardian notification support
Compliance reporting for licensing files
Remediation guidance and outlet retesting
